Celebrating World Book Day - Library

23/04/2026

World Book Day at our library was full of stories, kindness and happy moments. Students read, listened, made things and shared joy with others. Our school library held a few fun events for World Book Day. Here is what we did.

  1. Reading to Children in the Community on 2nd April, 2026
Working with three other schools, out students read stories to young children in our local community. Our students went to a community centre and read to the children. Everyone had fun. It was a great way to share the love of reading.
  2. Author Talk
We invited an author – Mr. Ng, who is also a teacher at Lam Tin St Paul’s School, to speak to students. Mr. Ng talked about writing books and where his ideas come from. The topic was related to teens and changes. Students felt inspired after the talk.
  3. Books on "Happiness Is..." by Ralph Lazar
We set up a special book display for Ralph Lazar's books "Happiness Is..."These books show little happy moments in life, like "Happiness is about sharing" or "Happiness is a good friend." Students read the books and wrote their own "Happiness is..." notes to share with everyone. It made everyone feel warm and happy.
  4. Wood Craft and Painting DIY Workshop
We also had a craft workshop. Students painted on small wooden pieces and decorated with dried flowers. The theme was "Happiness Is loving our mothers". Some students wrote "Happiness is my mum" or "Happiness is making a gift for my mum". Everyone made a beautiful handmade gift for their mother. It was fun and creative.
