Inter-house STEAM Competition

Inter-house STEAM Competition

24/06/2026

The theme of this year’s Inter-House STEAM Competition was “Battle for Resources with DIY Drone”.

In this exciting hands-on challenge, participating students were required to work collaboratively in teams to design and build a functional DIY drone within a limited time. Once assembled, they had to attach a magnet to the drone and navigate it through a challenging obstacle course to collect as many scattered paper clips as possible — symbolizing a strategic “battle for limited resources.”

The activity tested not only students’ technical skills in engineering and electronics, but also their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork under pressure. They faced initial difficulties, as constructing a stable and controllable drone proved more challenging than expected. However, through continuous trials, adjustments, and collaborative troubleshooting, they gradually overcame technical obstacles, refined their designs, and improved their drones’ performance.

This competition provided an excellent platform for students to apply STEAM concepts in a fun, competitive, and practical setting, while fostering resilience, critical thinking, and innovative thinking.
