Science Week
The recent Science Week was a resounding success, attracting around 200 participants. The Science Booth, running from February 9 to February 11, featured engaging topics and activities that underscored the relevance of science in daily life.
Day 1: The event commenced with a focus on nuclear energy, exploring whether it is a blessing or a curse. Club committee members designed an informative board filled with up-to-date information and thought-provoking questions to capture interest. Additionally, Instagram posts prepared by the committee members related to Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology were showcased to provide a holistic view of modern science.
Day 2: With Chinese New Year approaching, participants explored innovative methods to write couplets using techniques learned in Junior Science. Using starch solution and dilute iodine solution, students wrote positive phrases on red paper, with the underlying scientific principles displayed on the board.
Day 3: The booth concluded with a mini-competition that challenged students to place as many paper clips as possible on the surface of water, demonstrating the principles of surface tension. Participants were invited to join during lunchtime to learn more about the science behind the challenge.
Overall, Science Week successfully engaged students and sparked interest in various scientific topics.
