Social Science Cross-subject Activity Movie Screening (To Be Continued)
The panels of History, Geography and Chinese History hosted a movie screening activity in the afternoon of Jul 9, 2024. About 60 F.4 and F.5 students who are studying the above three electives joined the activity together. The movie To Be Continued (Chinese: 《尚未完場》) was screened, and one of the directors, Ms Dora Choi, was invited to give a sharing with the students after watching the movie. The film begins by focusing on the efforts to preserve the former State Theatre in North Point, previously known as the Empire Theatre. As the story unfolds, it gradually uncovers the remarkable life of the theatre's founder, Harry Odell. His legacy has been largely overlooked by history, bringing internationally renowned musicians to perform in Hong Kong as early as the 1950s. Odell's pioneering efforts had a profound and lasting impact on the development of the arts and cultural landscape in Hong Kong.
