12/03/2026
The Chemistry Panel organised a campus visit to the University of Hong Kong for 24 Form 4 Chemistry students with the theme “Unveiling the Invisible: The Applications of Spectroscopy and Electronic Microscopy.”
During the visit, students observed and engaged with university‑level instrumentation, including mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. They also participated in hands-on demonstrations such as the preparation of silver nanoparticles and sample preparation for infrared spectroscopy. The visit broadened students’ exposure to modern analytical techniques and laboratory practice, providing an eye‑opening glimpse into advanced scientific research and potential future study pathways.
