Smart AI Competition

Yu Wing Chun (Jacky) and Tang Ho Yin (Jason) have participated in SMART CAMPUS 2026 - Ai for Tomorrow's Leaders and have won the Second Prize in the Secondary stream.

 

Our students set out to address a pressing learning need: when students encounter unfamiliar Chemistry questions, they often receive overly long AI responses or rely on memorisation, which may not translate into strong performance in DSE examinations. Driven by their own learning experiences, they developed Catalia—an AI learning platform designed to turn students' efforts into exam-ready understanding and achievement.

 

Catalia supports learners through microscopic animations that explain reactions at the particle level, AI Chemistry marking that provides DSE-aligned feedback without giving direct answers, personalised notes that organise practice history by topic and examination focus, and a quiz generator that creates targeted questions with clear suggested answers and common mistake reminders.

 

This project demonstrates how purposeful AI can enhance learning efficiency, deepen retention, and strengthen examination performance.
